
The UNC Charlotte community is invited to take part in a moment of remembrance at 10 a.m. on Sept. 11 when Belk Tower sounds a special chime arrangement to commemorate the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The special chime is part of an extended week of programs from Sept. 10 through Sept. 14 in honor of the lives lost and touched by this national tragedy.
Activities will include a postcard campaign and education display in the Student Union, an outdoor flag installation on the COE/CHHS plaza, and two blood drives.
The schedule, as planned, is as follows:

Sept. 10-14, Postcard Campaign & Education Display: Stop by display tables in the Student Union to write a personal message to active US service members. Postcards and stickers will be provided.

Sept. 10-14, Campus Community Flag Display: Temporary installation on the College of Education and College of Health and Human Services plaza to commemorate those who lost their lives in the World Trade Towers and the Pentagon.

Sept. 6, 11th Annual 9/11 Memorial Blood Drive: Stop by the Student Activity Center from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sponsored by the Charlotte 49er Student-Athletes. Drop-ins welcome.
