Popp Martin Student Union Exterior

Popp Martin Student Union originally opened its doors in 2009 as the community center of the University.

On any campus, the union serves students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors. It provides services and conveniences that members of the college community need in their daily lives and creates an environment for getting to know and understand others through formal and informal associations. 

Building Updates

Popp Martin Student Union is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Saturday to Sunday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Your 49er ID card is required for entry via swipe.

Movies are canceled until further notice.

Union Station, Barnes & Noble at UNC Charlotte, and NinerTech storefronts are open with reduced store hours, see their websites for more information.

The Popp Martin Student Union Loading Dock is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Campus Salon is open.

Federal guidance is that all gatherings of 10 or more people should be avoided, and we encourage you to follow the federal standards. Based on these guidelines, UNC System guidance and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), all events scheduled through Conference, Reservations and Event Services (CRES) are canceled through July 31. CRES will be in touch with event owners with more information. Additionally, all University events of 10 or more people, regardless of location, are canceled until further notice; no exceptions will be granted.
