NinerTech Associate

Must be able to provide service to customers inquiring about MAC computer products and accessories. Employees will have a knowledge of point of sale systems and customer service skills. Hours are typically from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM M-F and occasional weekends. Must have a knowledge of campus layout for delivery purposes.

Production 

Must be able to work in a team that will follow a schedule/report to set up and tear down meeting rooms and other event spaces in the Union, including the multipurpose room spaces. Light cleaning of meeting spaces will be required. Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds. Teams typically work in groups of four student employees.

  • A/V Production Tech (1) – Sets up and takes down the meetings rooms, will set up and trouble shoot basic A/V.  Must attend weekly shift manager meetings with supervisor.
  • Production Assistant (2+) – Room set-up, tables, chairs, cleans rooms, resets, etc.

Building Managers

Address and solve customer needs and requests as they arise. Oversee building with rounds and locking/unlocking of doors. This may require early arrival and late departure from scheduled shifts. Regularly inspect outside and inside the building premises. Inspect and maintain meeting rooms (prior to and at conclusion of all events). Assists Production Teams with setups. Responsible for objective daily report of happenings. Responsible for distributing and maintaining signage. Assists at Information Center, Theater, and other areas when needed. Maintain consistency in policies and procedures. Oversee events and ensure compliance with the Student Union and University regulations. Must attend biweekly meetings with team. The Lead Building Manager assists professional staff with scheduling and staff relations.

Office, Information, & Retail Assistant (Cone Center ONLY)

Work shifts between 8am and 5pm Monday thru Friday ONLY. This wide-ranging position involves three areas of employment: reception & office assistant, Information Desk attendant, and Candy Shoppe associate. Employees rotate among these duties, all involving: serving as a first contact for all Cone Center visitors, answering phones, copying, filing, completing inventory reports, providing event information and directions, and performing cash handling operations. Customer service skills and attention to detail are imperative for success in this position.

Office Assistants

Duties include answering phones, copying, filing, greeting guests, assisting with event set ups in times of need, and other duties as assigned (may be office specific). This position can be found in both the Student Union and Cone University Center. If applying you will be considered for either building.

Theater Attendants

Serve as ticket takers, ushers, and caretakers of the theater before, during and after the showings.

Gallery Attendants

Oversee the Art Gallery while open. Required to be knowledgable of each show that is on display. Serve as a host during art receptions and other events that may take place in the Gallery.

Loading Dock Assistants

Responsible for distributing daily deliveries, maintaining delivery databases and logbooks. Assists with the loading/unloading of trucks. Manages all traffic inbound/outbound of dock area. Prepares packages for shipment & return. Coordinates with Waste Mgmt & Recycling Services. Manages the vehicle check out system. Responsible for general upkeep and cleanliness of dock areas. Some heavy lifting may be required.

Information Center Specialists

ICSs are responsible for Union and University information; they serve as a first contact with guests in a fast paced environment. The information center is responsible for maintaining Union table check outs, and pool table equipment inventory through a database program. ICS’s are responsible for gathering and maintaining information of university and community events and resources. They are required to contact the Production Teams and Building Managers by radio at all times. Students answer phones, assist walk up guests with questions. Customer service skills are a must. This position can be found in both the Student Union and Cone University Center. If applying you will be considered for either building.

Reservationists

Act as receptionist, help customers complete forms/requests, run reports, help customers with policy interpretation, confirm with groups prior event, and other duties as assigned.

A/V Technicians – Special Events

Hours will vary with event schedules for the University. Event techs are responsible for setting-up/operating/striking audio/visual equipment including sound, lighting and presentation support products. Events include but are not limited to movies, concerts, lectures, dances, fashion shows and special interest meetings. Student Technicians work closely with the customers to provide a satisfactory and successful event. Previous experience with audio visual equipment, special event support or show production is necessary. This position will work in both the Cone University Center and the Student Union as well as other locations on campus. Must attend weekly shift manager meetings with supervisor.

Maintenance Assistant

Duties will include basic repair and painting. Employees will assist with construction/repair projects as needed. Woodworking and mechanical knowledge desired.
